Currently OBSESSED!

The Gladstone Hotel Was Built In 1889 And Named After Gladstone Avenue. The Hotel Is The Oldest Continuously Operating Hotel In Toronto. I Recently Had The Pleasure Of Spending A Night At The Gladstone(Again My Amazing Boyfriends Doing) And It Was AMAZING. Honestly This Hotel Is The Most Beautiful In The City, If Not The World, Hands Down. The Lobby And Bars Are Full Of Art,

The Elevator Is An Old Crank One, Which Was An Amazing Start To Our Stay. Someone Escorted Us Up To Our Room, And Even The Hallways Are Amazing. The Hallways Are Like Mini Galleries Full Of Local Artists Work, Just So Much To See! We Arrived At Our Room And It Was, As I Expected, Beautiful. Room 411

Artist Statement
"Artists/architects team Heather Dubbeldam and Tania Ursomarzo have created an installation representing a cross-section through the primary planes of the building – walls, ceiling, and floor – in two “wrapping” architectural expressions that are an organizational device for the requirements of a hotel room. An element of skeletal construction echoes the structural framework of the room and wraps vertically around the space, supporting a floating bed plane, side tables and desk surface, while another plane wraps horizontally about the walls, referencing the window in the form of a continuous strip of light. Combined, these two elements integrate all the programmatic components of the room, floating within the existing restored Victorian shell"
